SMS Terms & Consent
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Who we are
Rivet is construction management software for contractors, operated by Rivet at getrivet.io. Contractors use Rivet to manage estimates, crew schedules, safety certifications, and tools. Text messaging is used only to notify people about work they are already involved in — it is never used for marketing, promotions, or advertising, and we never sell or share phone numbers with third parties for their own marketing.
How consent is obtained
Rivet texts a number about alerts only after the person who holds it has confirmed.
Alert texts (certification reminders, crew schedules, tool alerts): two steps
First, the number is given to Rivet: you enter your own number in your Rivet profile and tick the consent box, or someone at your own company adds it (an administrator, project manager or dispatcher for the crew roster; an administrator for tool alerts, which go to the company's notification number) and confirms on screen that you agreed to be texted. Second, Rivet texts that number asking you to reply YES. Alert texts begin only after you reply YES within 14 days, and only for the company (or your own account) that asked: a YES answers the most recent request, and each company asks separately. If you never reply, or you reply STOP, none are sent.
Invitations and codes
An administrator at your own company, or at a safety consulting firm your company works with in Rivet, may text you an invitation with a join code, using a number you gave as your work contact. Before sending, the administrator must tick a box confirming you agreed to be texted, and the invitation is texted again only if an administrator resends it. A verification code is sent only when you ask for one in your own account. Neither is an alert text.

Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends entirely on your work activity. Most recipients receive fewer than five messages per month. Rivet does not send recurring scheduled messages, newsletters, or campaigns — every message is triggered by a specific event such as an invitation, a schedule being published, or a certification approaching its expiration date.
Cost
Rivet does not charge you for text messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
How to opt out — STOP
Reply STOP to any message from Rivet to stop all further messages to that number. You will receive a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and nothing after that. Opting out is immediate and permanent for that number until you opt back in.
Reply START to resume messages if you opted out and change your mind. RivetGEAR administrators can also switch the company's notification texts off in RivetGEAR settings.
How to get help — HELP
Reply HELP to any message for support information, or contact us any time at support@getrivet.io. You can also reach us through the contact page.
