Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026
1. Introduction
Rivet ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our construction management platform and related services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information (name, email, company name, phone number)
- Project data (estimates, change orders, daily work orders, invoices)
- Team member information for your organization
- If your company turns on team celebrations: the month and day of your birthday, never the year — added by you, or added privately by your company (at your request, or from its roster import) — and announced only as you choose
- Payment and billing information
- Communications you send to us
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process transactions and send related information
- Send technical notices, updates, and support messages
- Respond to your comments and questions
- Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
- Detect, investigate, and prevent security incidents
4. SMS/Text Messaging
When you confirm text alerts, by ticking the consent box and replying YES to our confirmation text, you consent to receive automated text messages from Rivet related to your account. An invitation or a verification code is sent without a YES. Texts may include:
- Organization invitations and invite codes
- Tool maintenance and overdue return alerts (RivetTOOL)
- Certification expiry and renewal reminders (RivetSAFE)
- Crew schedule assignments and updates (RivetCREW)
- One-time phone verification codes
- One text asking you to confirm text alerts by replying YES
Message frequency varies based on your notification settings and account activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by switching the RivetTOOL notification texts off in RivetTOOL settings. Reply HELP for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal information. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices and regularly audit our systems.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Data portability
8. Cookies, Analytics, and Error Monitoring
We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how people find and use Rivet. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. What happens depends on your answer:
- Before you choose: Google Analytics runs without cookies. Your browser sends Google basic information about the visit, such as the page you viewed, the site that referred you, and your device and browser type. No analytics cookies are set.
- If you accept: Google Analytics may also set its own first-party cookies (such as
_ga) so that repeat visits can be counted accurately. - If you decline: Google Analytics is not loaded and we send it nothing.
We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and we do not allow it to set advertising cookies or personalize ads. We never send your name, email address, phone number, company name, or account ID to Google Analytics. We record actions such as signing up, starting a trial, opening a product, and completing a purchase only as counts, not as records about you.
Your choice is saved in your browser. To change it, select Cookie settings in the footer of our website and the banner will ask again. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as declining: the banner does not appear and Google Analytics is not loaded.
We also use browser storage that the service needs in order to work, such as keeping you signed in and remembering your settings, including your cookie choice. Payments are processed by Stripe, which may set its own cookies on checkout pages to help prevent fraud.
To find and fix problems, we use Sentry, an error-monitoring service. When an error occurs, Sentry receives a technical report of it and may record a replay of the moments before it, with on-screen text and form entries masked.
